A collection of work I made as the designer of the UC Davis East Asian Studies department.
UC Davis East Asian Studies Department Newsletter Flyer.
Every quarter, the UC Davis East Asian Studies department releases a newsletter to record, highlight, and commemorate its staff/faculty and students’ achievements. I used Illustrator create all the designs used in this edition’s cover. Atop the globe are the landmarks of each of the countries that East Asian Studies department focuses on. The clouds are behind the landmarks, as they are well-known and are symbolic to their respective country. But the countries themselves are more than just those landmarks — they have a wealth of rich culture and history that are still concealed behind the clouds.
UC Davis East Asian Studies Lunar New Year Banquet Invitation for 2019.
Reminiscent of the red envelopes typically given out on Lunar New Year, I created this invitation to the UC Davis Department of East Asian Studies’ annual Lunar New Year Banquet. I used Illustrator to make golden pigs in honor of the year of the pig and to bless the recipient with good luck and fortune for the year. I also included plum blossoms, a symbol of prosperity and hope.
UC Davis EAS 198 Flyer. Seminar-style class discussing special topics in East Asia.
To promote the new seminar offered by the UC Davis East Asian Studies department, I put together this flyer using Photoshop. I used silhouettes of some of the items that will be discussed in the class to create a pattern on the left-hand side for some added decoration and listed the guest speakers and titles of their talks on the right-hand side.
Awww, looks like that's the end.
