Pretending to be someone you’re not feels even more isolating than actually being alone. I wanted to recreate that sense of loneliness by repeating the same silhouette to create a crowd. They are all without individuality, just copy and pasted. Within that crowd is an individual that feels that he is hiding his true self behind a persona, or mask, that he created. He thinks that by following the masses, he will find happiness and success, hence the crown on his head.
However, in order to make it to the top, you have to be different so you can leave your mark. As such, the crown is nothing more than a scribble to symbolize that false sense of security. I chose to use magenta, the color of transformation. It symbolizes the process of change and growth as he sheds his false persona and embraces his true self.
Awww, looks like that's the end.
